OUR PRODUCTION

Our production process is handled by our vendor and partner Green Matters in Ecuador who is a recognized leader in Green and herbal products and beverages. Our Ilex Guayusa comes from Archidona, in the Ecuadorian Amazon, they are cultivated by indigenous communities with organic methods in small plots of land.
The first ingredient, Guayusa leaves have between 2 and 5 cm of size, and are harvested in mature state, when leaves have a dark green color. This process is done in Archidona in the Amazon section of Ecuador . After collected, these leaves are kept in a cool, dry and ventilated place for a period of time until they achieve certain parameters set by local government and DOA and EUA guidelines. During this time a selection process starts and leaves in bad conditions are discarded.
Selected Guayusa leaves are then washed and disinfected with Ozone water and later drained of water and then dried. This product is then transported to our facilities in Quito – Ecuador where they are further processed in a Greenhouse. After further selection, drying and dehydration under a control environment, leaves are cut in different sizes or they are made for powder. Finally tests are done for each batch following parameters set by local government and DOA and EUA.
Once tests come back, Guayusa leaves packaged and shipped for further packaging.
The Second ingredient is Guayusa extract, which process follows similar path for Guayusa leaves. Selection process is done in the Ecuadorian Amazon and after selected Guayusa leaves are made for powder, there is a process of cold mesh extraction that is repeated till there is a liquid that is tested for caffeine. Once this product achieves a level of caffeine there is a process of freezing and freeze-drying to achieve the final product. Final Product is packed in bags and sent for further packaging.
Test analysis are performed; The main components of the plant are the alkaloids caffeine and theobromine, antioxidants and vitamins D and C. Tests are then performed to maintain quality control and show as follows: Antioxidant analysis show that at 7 days of oxidation, Guayusa has almost twice as many antioxidants as green tea and that at 3 weeks of oxidation it has lost half the antioxidants it had at the beginning.
